DETAILS

Rope bridges, used by the Inca for centuries in Peru because of their resistance to earthquakes, are made of the ubiquitous Ichu grass of the Andes and other traditional materials. They can span up to one hundred eighty feet but are only wide enough for one person to cross at any one time. This bridge at Qeswachaka, four hours southwest of Cusco, spans over one hundred feet and hangs ninety feet above the Apurimac River. The reconstruction is a communal effort. By Incan order, the hanging bridges were renewed annually through the work of the “minka”, community work for the benefit of the entire population. The contemporary builders have indicated that their efforts are in honor of their ancestors and Panchamama (Mother Earth).

All Limited Edition Collector’s Series pieces are printed on museum rag paper or museum edition canvas using archival pigment inks. Limited Edition Collector’s Series pieces ship, print only.  If choosing museum paper, your new photographic art piece will ship with a 1.5 inch white border around the entirety of the image where the artist signs, titles, numbers and embosses over the dated signature.  If choosing museum canvas, your new photographic art piece will be shipped with a 1.5″-2″ mirror to allow for the piece to be stretched over 1.5″-2″ stretcher bars. Canvas pieces are signed and numbered on bottom right front of the image unless otherwise requested.  All Limited Edition Collector’s Series pieces are shipped unframed and tubed with a Certificate of Authenticity.  We can provide recommendations on how to frame your new art upon request.  This will insure maximum style and longevity for you new works.  Edition numbers are the total in the edition, size interdependent.  There are not multiple editions for different sizes.  Only one number, one edition, inclusive.
