Literally stumbling around Pushkar, a small remote village in the Thar Desert in Western India, the pouring of the concrete and ultimately it’s levelness a matter of personal opinion it seemed, my aim was to get lost. The smells and sounds hung on me like a wet blanket, blinding. A maze of passages and mysterious doorways leading to unknown fates, Pushkar is one of India’s holiest. In all of it’s mysticism, how else could a lake be explained to have been found in the desert but by nectar of the Gods falling upon the Earth. A fascinating place to amble. I passed this photographic opportunity in my peripheral, took a few steps passed it, when I realized what beauty lay in that moment. Two peaceful beings resting, but much more revealing itself that day in the alleyway.
